How To Apply
      Applications may be made online or by mail. Below are the items that will need to be included in order to process your application.
  1. A cover letter indicating how and why you would benefit from a residency
  2. The application form (form available online) - two copies for those using mail
  3. A two page cv (do not go beyond the page limit) - two copies for those using mail
  4. Work samples (these will not be returned) - 4 sets to be sent through the mail only
  5. A non-refundable check for $15.00 made payable to "Writers in the Heartland, PFD"
  6. A self-addressed, stamped postcard which will be your notification of application receipt.
Some Suggestions:
CVs should include education, work experience, important publications, awards.  Writing samples should reflect work done in the last five years; finished work, if possible; published or unpublished materials.  Submissions may represent different literary forms.
Please do not send more than 10 pages. Please do not send submissions online
